I wanted to let you know that it’s best to put May 1st as the last frost day if you choose to use Skippy’s Planting Calendar. We’re in Zone 6 and the April 15th date times things out much too early. I’m afraid that putting tomatoes in the ground on April 22nd wou give you very unhappy and unhealthy plants.
I’m very excited to get to the garden again. My dad is going to sharing the plot with me this year and he’s gotten all his seeds picked out. We’ve got about 12 tomato plants started so far.
Great! Im looking forward to tomatoes and whatever else tickles my fancy at the gardening center. Im not doing seeds…just buying little plantlings I think. Im definitely loading up on the Sweet 100s this year! What else are you planting, just tomatoes?
My dad wants eggplants, tomatoes, carrots and Brussel sprouts. He also gave me one of those huge bunches of onions. I’m going to have SO MANY onions this year. Good thing they store well.
I love those Sweet 100s…actually any type of cherry tomato. Those plants are already at Walmart and Home Depot. I was eyeing them up, but I’ll wait til it’s a bit warmer.
